According to the National Weather Service, strong storms will likely hit the Murfreesboro area beginning Tuesday afternoon.
Today will be cloudy with a 70 percent chance of rain with slight chances of rainfall in the early and late afternoon. Highs will be in the upper 50s with lows around 50 degrees. The north and southeast winds will blow up to 10 mph, and there will be a 20 percent chance of showers after midnight.
Tuesday will be windy and mostly cloudy with a 50 percent chance of precipitation. There will be chances of showers in the morning and afternoon, with thunderstorms likely to occur later in the day. Highs will be in the upper 60s. South winds will increase from 10 to 15 mph in the morning, to 15 to 25 mph in the afternoon.
Tuesday night will be breezy and mostly cloudy with a 90 percent chance of rainfall. Showers and thunderstorms are expected to arrive that evening, and will likely continue after midnight. Lows will be in the upper 40s. South winds will become southwest winds, declining in speed from 15 to 25 mph, to 5 to 10 mph.
Wednesday will be cooler and partly cloudy, with highs in the upper 40s and a 20 percent chance of showers. Wednesday night and Thursday will also be partly cloudy with lows around 30 and highs in the lower 40s.
Thursday night and Friday will be mostly clear with lows in the mid 20s and highs in the upper 40s.
Friday night through Saturday night is expected to be partly cloudy with lows in the upper 20s and highs in the upper 40s.
