WMTS Radio to hold spring benefit, vinyl fair

It’s that time of the semester again — WMTS 88.3, the student-run radio station on campus, is hosting its spring benefit and vinyl fair.

The spring benefit is Saturday at 8:00 p.m. at Murfreesboro’s own Mayday Brewery.

For just five dollars, you can experience all of the craft beer locally made and unique to Mayday while hearing live music.

There will be performances from several local artists, including DJ Sterfry, Michael da Vinci, Evan Dupree, Jay Buck, Goth Babe and Uncle Sam Shot My Pony. The sets range from EDM to garage rock and everything in between, reflecting the diversity of WMTS’s alternative programming.

Additionally, My Roots food truck (featured at Bonnaroo) will be on site with their unique Southern cuisine.

This is a great way to support college radio, local music, local food and local beer all in one, not to mention a great way to spend your Saturday night.

WMTS’s second annual vinyl fair will take place next week on April 9. Just like last year, there will be vendors from all over the state selling records alongside live performances from local artists. This will also be held at Mayday Brewery, so food and drinks will be plenty.

This is an all-day, come-and-go affair, beginning at 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
