The annual Little Raiders gift-giving campaign at MTSU is seeking Secret Santas for children and youth in need for the holiday season.
According to a recent press release, “members of the campus community can ‘adopt’ a Little Raider by picking a numbered paper ornament hanging on three Christmas trees across campus.”
The trees can be found in the MTSU Student Health Services lobby, the June Anderson Center for Women and Nontraditional Students on the third floor of the Student Union and in the MTSU University Police Department Lobby.
The ornaments identify to the Secret Santa the child’s age, gender, clothing size and what they are wishing for this holiday season. Once an ornament is picked, the participant can register as a Secret Santa at the location of the tree.
“The annual event seeks to bring some holiday cheer to needy children and youth in the Blue Raider community,” the press release said.
Any True Blue community member can register for the event to help a child in need up until Dec. 2, and donated items need to be dropped off at the University Police Department by Dec. 5.
The University Police Department is one of many joint sponsors of the event this year. Others include the MTSU Campus Recreation Center, MTSU Student Health Services, the June Anderson Center for Women and Nontraditional Students, the Golden Key Honor Society and MT Lambda.
