We woke up this morning on the first anniversary of Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack on Israel. Many people who called that region home did not wake up with us.
Many members of our MTSU community have been impacted by the Israel-Gaza war. As MTSU’s student-led news source, we hope to not only report your news but also build community. Rather than publish a story about military actions or political moves being made, we want to bring you the stories of our neighbors who have been directly affected. Listening and recognizing each other’s humanity is a step in the right direction.
So, on this anniversary, we are calling for your stories. If you have been directly affected by the current violence in the Middle East and would be willing to sit down with one of our reporters for a conversation, reach out. Email us at editor@mtsusidelines.com with the subject line, “Response to call for stories.” In the body, include your first and last name, year, major and a short summary of your story.
We look forward to hearing from you.
