A Murfreesboro Police officer responded on Wednesday around 8:36 p.m. in reference to shots fired near the corner of West Street and Greenland Drive, according to an Murfreesboro Police Department report.

When the officer arrived, he noted a single live round and bullet casing in the area. One witness said he heard three to five gun shots nearby. Moments later, according to the witness, a black vehicle with possibly five occupants had driven “up and down West (Street) several times.”

Around 8:15 that same night, another Murfreesboro Police officer responded to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in reference to a shooting. The victim stated he had made contact with someone about a car.

When the victim arrived at the area near West Street and Greenland Drive, two male subjects entered the victim’s vehicle and demanded his money. At one point, according to the victim, one of the male subjects shot him.
