MTSU’s College of Mass Communication hosted a student organization fair on Thursday to allow students to a chance to get to know more about the groups and opportunities available.
Every semester the college hosts an organization fair to give students the opportunity to learn more about organizations related to their department. The organizations that participate represent everything from journalism to recording industry to advertising and live broadcast.
“We’re here to advertise our organization, ” Brad Freeney of Omega Delta Psi explains. “Omega Delta Psi is a co-ed music business fraternity, open to all majors and anyone that’s interested in the recording industry or music in general.”
Omega Delta Psi offers everything from song writing to audio production, and even students majoring in something different can still be involved and learn more about the recording industry.
“It’s neat to see everyone that’s involved in this kind of thing,” said Patty Greer, a sophomore and the Promotions Manager at the student-run radio station, WMTS. “You really hit the right kind of people because everyone that’s in this building is in this major and really has an interest in what we’re offering.”
Other organizations present included EMC Productions, MT10, MT10 News, and SIGGRAPH, the college’s digital animation group.
“It’s still a really great opportunity to get our name out there, and tell people about our benefit and interest meeting coming up,” Greer said.
