The Blue Raiders defeated the Vanderbilt Commodores 71-48 inside the Murphy Center on Thursday night. The team now improves to 9-1 on the year and continues to show the nation they are a force to be reckoned with in college basketball

Vanderbilt was coming off a game where they hit 19 three-pointers. On Thursday, the Commodores connected on just five the whole night. MTSU also held 7-foot-1 center Luke Kornet to just eight points in a matchup where Vanderbilt shot just 32.1 percent from the field.

Giddy Potts led the Blue Raiders, shooting 10-of-17 and 4-of-9 from three point range. He also tallied nine rebounds, one shy of a double-double.
