One suspect arrested, two at large in weekend College Grove shooting

Murfreesboro police officers and detectives are actively searching for two juveniles involved in an attempted first-degree murder on Sunday. The shooting occurred at College Grove Apartments on New Lascassas Highway around 7 p.m., according to Murfreesboro Police Sgt. Kyle Evans.

Police arrested Devonta Cason, 22, after obtaining Attempted First-Degree Homocide warrants for all three suspects. Tennessee law prohibits MPD from releasing the names of the juvenile suspects.

The victim had been shot in the face and was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.

Fatal shootings at apartment complexes near MTSU have occurred on May 4, May 16 and May 23, none of which took place at College Grove.
