Crime: Mufreesboro Police respond to attempted murder, aggravated assault, aggravated robbery at The Cove at Cedar Point

Murfreesboro Police responded to an attempted murder, aggravated assault and aggravated robbery at The Cove at Cedar Point Apartments Friday at approximately 7:50 p.m.

Upon arrival to the scene, officers made contact with the victims of the incident. They were both sitting in a vehicle when police arrived, and one victim had a gunshot wound. Emergency Medical Services then transported the victim with the gunshot wound to Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital.

The victim who did not have a gunshot wound then explained to police what had occurred. He stated that he was walking to the vehicle in The Cove parking lot when an armed man attempted to grab the victim’s wallet. The suspect hit the victim’s head with the gun. The victim then ran to call the police. The other victim, who was sitting in the vehicle, then began to fight with the suspect. During the fight, the suspect fired one shot and struck the victim in the leg. The suspect stole $103 from the vehicle and fled the scene. After the incident was explained to police, detectives took over the investigation.
