A man stopped for reckless driving by Murfreesboro police on Saturday morning complained that his crack cocaine and marijuana had been stolen at gunpoint earlier in the night, according to a police report.

George Lain Jr., 49, told police that he was at “the spot serving folks,” at the corner of University Street and Reid Avenue when several people approached him with a gun and demanded he “hand over the stuff.”

He said they took a fourth of an ounce of crack and 10-15 bags of “Kush” marijuana.

Lain then fled the area in his car before he was pulled over by deputies.

Detectives were notified of the crime, but did not respond to the scene.

Lain would give no further information. There were no witnesses and police have no suspects at this time.
