Two women were stalked and threatened while walking from the James E. Walker Library to the Stark Agriculture building between 7:10 and 7:40 p.m. Tuesday, October 7, according to a campus police report.
The two women were walking in the area between the Business and Aerospace Building and Corlew Hall when two men approached them from behind and began following them at a distance of less than six inches. The men, both black, began asking the women their names, where they were going and what they were doing out so late.
When the women attempted to walk away, one of the men blocked their path.
“They kept us boxed in,” one of the women told police.
The women managed to walk around the men, who followed them until they entered the agriculture building two to three minutes later.
The men were described as being both 5’5″ to 5’7″ and stocky, with a “medium complexion” and a shaved face. One man introduced himself to the women as “Jaylen,” and said the two men were brothers.
One was wearing a white Polo shirt, hat and sagging, dark-colored jeans. The other wore a light-colored hat, an orange Polo shirt, dark jeans, and tennis shoes.
The woman who reported the incident requested that campus police increase their patrol coverage of the area at times when night classes are in session.
