As tradition on Homecoming morning, one could be found on the sidewalk of Main St. in Murfreesboro eagerly awaiting the MTSU Homecoming Parade. This past Saturday, the street was filled with children holding bags ready to catch candy, parents allowing their kids to safely run in the street for the first time ever, and an incredible amount of MTSU blue clothing.
In previous years, the parade has taken a route through the side streets of Murfreesboro, but this year it came straight down Main Street all the way to campus. This allowed for more space for the parade and plenty of sidewalk seating.
There were roughly two hundred people in attendance in the parade that included the volleyball team, the men’s and women’s basketball teams, the color guard, the cheerleaders, and of course, the Band of Blue. In attendance were also all of the Homecoming Attendants, as well as Ms. MTSU.
The school mascot, Lightning, could be spotted throughout the parade posing for photos and giving out high-fives. There were also countless school organizations in the route that including LAMBDA, SGA, and numerous fraternities and sororities.
