At nearly 10 p.m. on Wednesday night, an officer responded to several calls notifying them of a possible shooting near Greenland Drive and La Siesta Mexican restaurant.

After driving down Harrison Avenue and seeing several people standing outside, an officer stopped and made contact with the subjects. They all informed the officer that one of the Harrison Avenue residences had been shot, according to the report. The owner of the home is an MTSU freshman who was not present during the shooting.

After observing the area, the responding officer found several shell casings in the street in front of the residence and bullet holes in the house.

The officer contacted the owner who was not in town at the time and unable to come to the scene. Detectives were notified of the shooting and took over the case.

Although the report states that witness statements varied, they all agreed a gold car was seen in the area around the time of the shooting. This shooting comes a day after an attack at student apartment complex Student Quarters on Greenland Drive.
