A Murfreesboro police officer arrested Jason Mobley, 23, after responding Saturday to a report of shots fired at 5:50 a.m. at the North Campus apartment complex off Old Lascassas Highway.
When the officer arrived on scene, the complainant told the officer shots had been fired from the unit above his, according to the police report. The complainant did not see the suspect, but heard the shots and saw bullets striking the ground.
The officer found Mobley who appeared to be intoxicated. According to the report, the officer asked Mobley if he had firearms in his residence, to which he said yes. Mobley consented to have his apartment searched, and the officer found 11 nine-millimeter bullet shells on the balcony.
Mobley admitted to drinking before firing the handgun. The officer, after finding the handgun in the apartment, placed Mobley under arrest and transported him to the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office.
Mobley was charged with reckless endangerment.
