Roadways in the Middle Tennessee area are expected to remain slick with snow and ice through Thursday morning. The National Weather Service warns motorists to remain cautious when traveling off of main roads.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation is well prepared for any further inclement weather on highways, according to Kathryn Schulte, TDOT’s Community Relations Officer.
The department is keeping crews ready “until this thing passes,” Schulte said.
Even though ice and snow seemed to have cleared up today on the highways and interstates, Schulte said it is still important to be on the lookout for black ice. Roads can also become cold enough for snow to stick later this evening.
Scattered snow showers are expected to continue throughout Wednesday night.
