Three local hip-hop artists have joined forces for a new track celebrating the MTSU men’s basketball team’s success in the NCAA tournament.
MTSU alums nobigdyl. and Mogli the Iceburg have teamed with undergraduate Illuminate for “#MTSUMarchMadness,” a remix of Future’s single, “March Madness.” The three-and-a-half minute song sees the trio rapping about the Blue Raiders victory over Michigan State on Friday, complete with references to coach Kermit Davis, players Reggie Upshaw and Perrin Buford, the Blue Zoo fan section and, of course, being True Blue.
nobigdyl. anchors the track with an autotune chorus in the style of Future’s original:
“Middle Tennessee we on now / Raiders ’bout to put the law down / Kermit I ain’t talking frogs now / But we made it to the dance / Spartans didn’t have a chance”
Stream and download nobigdyl., Mogli the Iceberg and Illuminate’s “#MTSUMarchMadness” below.
