It’s that time of the year again as Murfreesboro gears up for its sixth annual Borodash set for Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26, at 8 a.m.

The four-mile fundraising run will take place through the historic streets of downtown Murfreesboro. Runners, walkers and their families will see real-time results on their cell phones and finish line video. This race is considered to be a family tradition here in Murfreesboro.

Faithful BoroDash runner Rashaad Flowers has been running in this race for the last five years, and says he is looking forward to doing the same this upcoming holiday.

“I’ve been doing the BoroDash program for five years now, and me and my brother, and my friends really enjoy doing it,” Flowers said. “It’s such a gratifying experience being able to give back to people in times of need, and this organization is like the perfect way to do it.”

All proceeds from this event will go towards this year’s beneficiaries, which include Neema House, Green House Ministries, The Family Center and recently added beneficiary Club YES. If you choose not to participate in the race but would like to be a part in some way, there are many volunteer opportunities the day before and the day of the race.

The race begins at MTSU’s Dean Hayes Track and Soccer Stadium. Students and families will be able to online register at www.Borodash.org. Race day registration will begin at 6:30 a.m. that morning and will last until 7:30 a.m.
