As the season changes, MTSU students transition from summer to fall apparel. A few share what inspires their outfit choices for breezy school days.
“Just be you. Feel vibrant in what you wear,” says Anthony Mitchelle, 22, an apparel design major. “I like more androgynous [styles] because it matches my personality.”
“My style inspiration lately has been my dad, because he passed away over the summer,” says Breamon Daniel, 21, a psychology major. “I’ve been wearing a lot of his clothes and [have] just been really laid-back.”
“I don’t have a specific style,” says biology major Hessa Seran (right), 25. “I go with what takes my attention and usually something unique and new.” Early childhood education major Fatima Albadr (left) 24, opts for something simpler. “I like white,” she says.
Geology major Jordyn Hyden, 26, sums up her style in 10 words; “Cheerleading skirts, ‘90s kickass bitch and a little fancy.”
La’Teric Anderson, 18, is a computer science major who is inspired by skater style.
Journalism major Rachel Blackwell, 20, says, “My fall colors are pink, black and black and gold. Half my closet is black.”
Multimedia journalism major Tiarra Johnson said she was inspired by Solange Knowles and old school rhythm and blues
Violette Grant said she takes inspiration from Japanese and London culture.
“I think of ‘Vogue’ by Madonna every time I get dressed. I gotta own it,” says biology major Kiarra Skinner, 18, who is inspired by “85-year-olds with a bit of an ‘80s kick.”
