Missing teenager Ja’cayia Alsup has been found safe 16 days after she went missing from an MTSU basketball game at the Murphy Center.
MTSU Police Department confirmed the search ended Sunday night via a social media post. Campus officers thanked the Murfreesboro Police Department and all who shared the flyer during the search for Alsup.
Police did not provide any further details in the post.
Alsup’s family reported her missing on Feb. 8. Five days later, MTSU PD contacted the public for help locating the 17-year-old.
At the time of the search, police chose not to issue an Amber Alert because investigators did not believe Alsup was abducted.
MTSU Police did not respond for additional comment at the time of publication.
